Who Are We and Why Are We Here

WHO WE ARE AND WHY WE ARE HERE

We are a member church of the Presbyterian Church in America, one part of the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are a community of men, women, and children who have received the riches of God's saving grace in the cross of Jesus, our Savior. As sinners who have been saved by grace, we understand the desperate need for the healing balm of the Gospel to arrest the hearts of the wayward and to bring new life to them. This is our fundamental mission: to share with the world the wondrous news of God's inexhaustible grace by introducing them to the Lord Jesus Christ through word and deed.

We gather together as a family to worship our great Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Through worship we fellowship with God and with each other, and thus grow in grace and love. As God shapes us by His Holy Spirit in our worship of His name, we are equipped and strengthened to fulfill our happy duty to share with the world the wonderful riches of God's love in Christ.

We are firmly committed to the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inerrant Word of God. The Bible alone is our only infallible rule of faith and life. We are diligent to observe and faithful to follow the teachings and testimony of Scripture. As a Presbyterian church, we believe that the Westminster Standards are a faithful expression of that teaching and testimony. We believe that God has called us to be a 'city set upon the hill' in this Valley. We want the surrounding communities to know the Lord, and to join us in worshiping Him in the Spirit and in truth. Our goal is to show them the love of Christ by ministering to their physical needs through acts of charity and the offering of Christian nurture. Our goal is to show them the love of Christ by faithfully ministering the Word in all areas of life, for it is by the Word and Spirit that a man, woman or child may be born again.

If we can serve you and those you love in any way, please do not hesitate to let us know. For further information, please contact one of the Deacons, or an Elder or Pastor. May the Lord abundantly bless you!
